1. What are FBs?
Friendshipbooks (FBs) are small booklets, similar to a greeting card with papers inside. FBs can also be just sheets or papers. These are called low quality FBs. FBs always have an owner and a maker. The owner is the person the FB is made for. The maker is the person who made the FB.
2. What is the difference to n&n/hq FBs?
Nice and Neat (n&n) or hq (high quality) FBs are also decorated booklets. They have nice covers and no staples. Usually the papers are put together with brads or ribbons.
3. How do you make a FB?
There are a lot of ways to make nice FBs. This part will I add soon. So stay a little bit patient.
4. What do you do when you receive a FB?
When you receive a FB you sign it. That means that you put your name and adress in it. Besides your adress you write what you are looking for (e.g. new swappers, postcards,…). Most people use nice addresslabels.
5. Where do you send a FB to?
After you signed the FB you pass it on to another swapper. This can be one of your penpals. Please be sure that the one you send it to knows what do to with it. You can also find new swappers at facebook or yahoo groups. Please do not send the FB to someone who signed it already.
6. What to do when a FB is full?
When you are the last one to sign it, you send it home to the owner (which means the person it was made for). Full FBs are called „homer“. You can also send it to someone ICR.
7. What to do when you get a full FB back?
What you do with your full FB is at least up to you. You can look at the addresses for new swappers or penpals. I recommend to keep all your full FBs. It’s nice to see where it was and what different kind of FBs you get back home.
8. What are slams?
Slams work similar like friendshipbooks, but they usually have a themed question. Usually they have a „sign in „page where you have to put your addresslabel. The following pages contain different questions (like „do you like black?“, „what was the last book you read?“) where you sign with your name or the particular answer.
9. What kind of slams exist?
There are a lot of different kind of slams. Common slams are „sign-if“ slams, where you sign with your name. Other popular slams in Germany may be photo-slams (where you put a picture in it) or SBS (where labels are in it and you make new things).
10. What are bags?
Bags are small envelopes made for someone by somebody. Usually there is a manual on every bag, which describes what exactly to do with it. It’s common that you take an item and put in two items for example.
11. What are labelbags?
Labelbags (LBs) are also small envelopes. They are filled with addresslabels. They have an owner and a maker. There is a manual on every labelbag. Usually you take a number of labels (to make new nice things with them) and you add an amount of your own labels. There are also labelbags where you only add labels.
12. What kind of bags exist?
Common used bags are sticker-bags, label-bags, goody-bags, tea-bags, memosheet-bags.
13. What are Decos?
Decos are similar to n&n/hq FBs. The cover is always decorated very nice with a lot of materials. The signer also decorate a whole page. Usually the decos have a theme.
14. What are Lyrics?
Lyrics are similar to decos. Every page is decorated with lyrics from a song.
